eight months. the suspect was a pigeon.
This is an actual reported event. A pigeon found in Mumbai in 2023 came under suspicion of spying. It was held for months, then released in early 2024 after being identified as an escaped Taiwanese racing pigeon.
The Associated Press report, carried by the Guardian, describes rings on its legs and markings that raised suspicion. The eventual explanation was a racing bird that had ended up in the wrong country.
This does not prove that pigeons are spies. It proves that the possibility has been taken seriously enough to hold one. Those are different claims, and the difference is why i have kept the original news link attached.
There is no invented mugshot here. The original article has the real release photograph. It is more effective than anything i could add.
