That is the instruction. Not “attach the camouflage” or “install the avian exterior”. Fit feather shell. Like replacing the cover on a telephone.
The exploded view is supposed to settle things. It does the opposite. There is a separate optical unit, a cassette you could hold between two fingers, and a whole feathered exterior that apparently comes away in one piece. A finished pigeon is only the last step.
In the margin someone has written “Check left foot before release.” Not both feet. The left foot. Why would that be the one that needs the reminder? The P-4 drawing shows contacts on both. This may be nothing more than a recurring fault. A recurring fault would imply recurring maintenance. You can see the difficulty.
I have enlarged the note three times. There is no new information in the third enlargement. There is simply a larger note. Keeping the original spread here so the next person does not mistake a crop for an additional document.
