There is a bird on the camera. The camera is looking at the street. The bird is looking somewhere else. The immediate temptation is to call this redundancy. I prefer supervision.
The word “flock” already belongs to the birds. It also appears in contemporary surveillance branding. That coincidence is the entire reason this file now has its own page. I am not claiming the camera pictured here is a particular manufacturer’s product.
One reading: an animal has found an elevated place to sit. Another reading: a field agent is overseeing the equipment that will eventually replace it. The second reading would explain why it looks so dissatisfied.
If the old chest-mounted camera is the beginning of the story, this is the image i would put at the other end. A century later, the pigeon does not need to carry the camera. Someone has installed it at a convenient perching height.
